Technical Information

Platform and Service Overview

The Agility Cloud platform is located in state-of-the-art managed data centres and features redundant hardware and high availability services across the board to ensure resilience and continuous availability.
The platform is highly secure with all data access tightly controlled and ISO27001 accredited, (the only auditable international standard for an Information Security Management System or ISMS). The standard is designed to ensure the selection of adequate and proportionate security controls.

Software Licenses

In the Agility Cloud Model all server software licenses including operating system and SQL licenses, are built into the annual hosting fee and managed by SSG Insight.

Patches and Updates

All cloud servers are upgraded with the latest Microsoft security patches on a monthly basis, outside of core UK working hours. In addition, the Microsoft patches are only deployed after going through a rigorous, monthly testing cycle.

Security

The security of all SSG Insight systems is treated with paramount importance, something which we have proved by not only gaining but continuing to maintain our ISO 27001 accreditation. Access to all systems is restricted to authorised personnel only and done so on a least privilege basis. Access to customer data is only granted in response to a ticket logged by a customer and is then subject to our audit processes.

The Agility Cloud Platform has been independently penetration tested by a third-party company and tests are run following every major product revision of Agility, or any major architectural changes on the platform.

All websites are secured by SSL over port 443 (HTTPS) and all traffic to this port is encrypted by a 256-bit security certificate.
The cloud hardware is designed to operate 24 x 7 x 365. All hardware and services are monitored 24 x 7.

Performance and Capacity Management

Insight tools are deployed to continually monitor key metrics and ensure all capacity management commitments are adhered to. Response thresholds are clearly defined, and relevant response actions documented.

All the following performance metrics are monitored by default:

  • Bandwidth
  • Disk capacity
  • SQL jobs success / failures
  • Website availability
  • Website usage
  • Brute force detection
  • CPU / Memory utilisation

Additional monitoring is implemented as required.

Disaster Recovery and Resilience

In order to protect against hardware failure Agility Cloud is configured in a high availability resilient architecture, with all critical components running in paired configurations. Backup and site recovery operations facilitate a full disaster recovery solution that can support RPO of 1 hour and are regularly tested to this benchmark.

The Agility Cloud hosting platform is connected to enterprise level SAN which provides multiple routes to the discs for redundancy in addition to resilience within the discs and will automatically fail over in the event of a disc / SAN failure.
